Nintendo Gaming Success

Have you ever heard of the great North American video game crash of the 1980s? No? That might be because in 1985, just two years after the video game industry saw its revenues drop by 97%, the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) was released. Since then, the video game has never been the same. Nintendo has wracked up profits with games like Tetris, Wii Sports and Super Mario Brothers and popular game systems like the Wii. In 2011 alone, Nintendo had profits of $12.2 billion, more than Microsoft and Sony. The secret to Nintendo’s success is its ability and devotion to creating games and game systems that appeal to broad audiences.
