Life After An Online MBA

Once you graduate from an MBA online program, you will have several decisions to make about employment and about further academic options.
EMPLOYMENT
Professional Employment
If you already had a job when you started your MBA online program and plan to continue working for the same company after you graduate, then you might not even have to worry about looking for a job. With your new degree, you may be eligible for a raise and newer, greater responsibilities in your current workplace.
If you plan to look for employment toward the end of your MBA online program or after you graduate, it may take some time to find a new position. Although your online MBA may be accredited by the AACSB, you may find that some potential employers have a negative opinion of online programs. However, most employers will be more willing to overlook their prejudices about your online MBA if you have real business experience through an internship or a job.
Academic Employment
If you finish your MBA and decide that you would like to teach business courses at the college or university level, you will most likely need to pursue a PhD in addition to your MBA. Even in business schools, most professors have a PhD as well as relevant work and teaching experience.
JOBS FOR ONLINE MBA GRADUATES
If you graduate from an online MBA program that is accredited by the AACSB, you should have the same chances for employment as graduates of traditional programs. Most MBA graduates find employment in consulting, management and finance. Your previous work experience and ability to translate your education into practical results will help you in your job search.
