Zynga’s Newest Purchase – Draw Something

Draw Something has taken smartphones by storm. The concept of the game created by OMGPOP is to draw something for your friend and have them guess what you’re drawing. Sounds pretty simple, right? The cool part is that the app records your drawing process and relays that to the other user which makes it that much more fun.

The app has been downloaded 37 million times since its launch in February and has become the #1 app in many countries around the world. Once Draw Something became a smash hit, Zynga came in and swooped both the app and its company for $180 million.

The once struggling start up should be inspiration for business students and those wanting to be entrepreneurs. Its creator, Charles Forman, went from having $1,700 in his bank account to a whole lot more. This animated infographic will show you just how quick Draw Something became so ‘drawsome’.
